Spaced repetition in simple words
Spaced repetition means revising the same topic again after increasing gaps of time instead of repeating it many times in one sitting.
Why it helps
When you review just before you are about to forget, your brain strengthens that memory more effectively.
A basic example
You can revise a chapter:
- on the same day,
- again after 2 days,
- again after 7 days,
- and once more after 15 days.
Better than rereading
Spaced repetition reduces random forgetting and makes your study time more useful, especially for exams with a large syllabus.
